MOODBOARDS

SS 2027 Womenswear Collection
amor_colorstory.png

This is the color palette for my Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled "amor". I was inspired by the colorful and lively city of Oaxaca, Mexico—everything from the street markets to the flowers, clothes, and home items. I pulled a larger color palette for this collection to use in details like embroidery and other trims, which Oaxaca is well known for.

This is the mood board for the amor collection. I was inspired by the traditional dresses of Oaxaca as well as other highly recognized styles from Mexico, like the Folklorico dress and the midi dresses Mexican actress Maria Felix wore in the late 1950s. I wanted to modernize my inspiration from traditional designs and those from times past by blending them with the style of the early 2000s--like spaghetti straps, halter crop tops, V-necklines, and ruffles. Key textiles I was drawn to were poplin, satin, and lace.

For this color palette, I was inspired by the beautiful Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer--Kintsugi. I have always been fascinated by this art form of taking something broken and mending its "flaws" to make it even more beautiful than before. While this palette does not have a wide range of hues, it has ideal contrast for simple yet elegant surface pattern designs. I built this color palette inspiration board with wallpaper patterns and houseware prints in mind, like kitchen towels, aprons, and tablecloths.

SS 2025 Women's Activewear

This is the color storyboard for my mini activewear collection. The target consumer is a 23-30 year olds wanting to bring a bit of modern femininity to their pilates class or just running errands. I kept the color palette small with soft and vibrant pastels that work well together for easy mix and match combinations.
